Part Clutch Rubber

Part Clutch Rubber

Strange hissing sound in brake can anyone help?

I have a 1999 Mazda B2500 extended cab manual transmission (very similar to Ford Ranger). I had a sound system installed and now there is a hissing noise inside the cab right where the pedal goes into the firewall. I can see that the rubber bushing looks torn at the pedal and feel the air in that area. Also, when I shift gears and let go of the clutch like I’m going into neutral or something the truck jerks and feels like the brakes came on for a second, and it idles kind of rough sometimes. Does anyone know what I need to do to fix it, where I can get the parts (will any normal auto store have them), and how hard is it? Thanks a lot.

You need to replace the power booster. Most parts stores stock this for around 75 dollars. If you have never changed a booster before and you tackle it, I would say two hours. It's not that hard.
