Cup Time Personal

How was your transition from bottle to sippy cup?
My 1st child is 4 now, and I seem to remember a very easy transition as soon as she turned 1. I threw away her bottles, and that was it.
My son is now 11 months, and I have tried giving him a sippy cup a few times and he won't drink out of it. I've tried the rubbery nipple ones and the hard plastic ones. I have exactly 1 more month before I stop giving him bottles, but i'm getting a little worried about what i'll do if he won't drink from a sippy at that time.
(It is my personal choice and the advise of our pediatrician to wean from the bottle at 12 months, so that's not really up for discussion.)
My questions are this: What did you do to make your transition easier? How did you get your baby to start drinking from a sippy cup? After you quit bottles, were you worried about dehydration, if so, what did you do?
SoDBeautiful, please stop stalking me. I've blocked you, so hopefully that will do the trick.
Have you tried giving him juice in sippy cup? We had to start with juice first and then water, and milk. Juice was so much "yummy" that we got her used to drinking juice out of the cup that the transition to the milk and water was easy. She was expecting juice out of the cup and eagerly took it but was pleasantly surprised when she got milk. My daughter 12 months is in the process of losing the bottle too, she is handling it pretty well.
With my first daughter, she preferred drinking out of a straw than a sippy cup. So we use straw cups with her.
Just keep giving him the sippy cup, he will drink out of it if there is no other option. Tough I know. Good luck
